Fees to get a work permit

Featured Replies

I would love to learn from members the rates applicable to Cambodian, Laotian and Myanmar workers to get their work permits, please.

My Vietnamese friends want to have a clue as to how much they would need to prepare for their coming registration and and issuance of work permits. Thank you very much!

Any response, please? According to the Working of Aliens Act of 2008, the fee is 20,000 baht, which is high for Vietnamese workers.

Not sure where you found the 20k baht number. That sounds like one of the fines.

A one year work permit is 3000 baht plus a 100 baht filing fee. Or 750 baht for a 3 months or 1500 baht for 6 months.

If I recall correctly the fees are lower for migrant workers.

For a worker with a valid passport and a valid Two Year Non Immigrant 'LA' Visa stamp the One Year Work Permit cost is 1,200 THB plus a 100 THB filing fee.

The above assumes the worker is already registered with an employer and has up an up to date Thai hospital card/health check.

If you need all of the above, the cost is around 4,500 to 5,000 THB through a specialist migrant labour agent.

That is the maximum the government can charge for a Work Permit under the law. The actual fees are much lower, as posted above.

That link is not applicable to workers under the Thai unregistered migrant labour schemes.

My Cambodian GF has a valid passport and a valid WP ( same as Farang). I was told that since she already had a passport they would NOT issue a 2 year L-A visa

under the migrant workers arrangement.

Was told to get the L-A visa she needs a special workers passport not a regular one

Would love to be told that i am wrong

she has the health card as well.

Do you know of any rates applicable to them, particularly the CLM workers, please? Any regulations by the Thai government?

Have already quoted the rates in my first post above for CLM Work Permits under the unregistered migrant labour scheme.

Attached below is a little light reading on the subject of Thai regulations/MOUs re unregistered migrant labour:
