cumgranosalum
Well well. There is a God after all! Now, any jail for the yellows who shut down two international airports? Agreed. About time Thai 'justice' showed it's politicians they aren't above the law and can't act like hooligans whenever they feel just cos they don't agree with something. More please. Unfortunately it doesn't show that doesit? it shows that when you are in opposition in Thailand you can end up in jail. Popular Post newcomer71
Well well. There is a God after all! Now, any jail for the yellows who shut down two international airports? The red shirts violently broke into the ASEAN summit. The yellow shirts peacefully occupied the airport. The criminal code treats these differently. While there should be prosecution of the yellow-shirt leaders, the severity of punishment will be nowhere near the same. Total utter BS... And you know it. Both groups are violent and did illegal action when they storm ASEAN or occupy airports AND DISRUPT national and international flights. Both groups should face jail time, but...
Popular Post EnglishJohn
From what I have seen, the serious violence which occurs during political protests is almost exclusively by red-shirts. It's good that these violent thugs have been punished - but I am hoping that the terrorists who murdered protestors are caught next and strung up. You people should realise that violent attacks do not compare in any way with peaceful protests. Citing the airport sit-in every time a thug gets jailed gets boring very quickly.

car720
Well well. There is a God after all! Now, any jail for the yellows who shut down two international airports?yep we should now see yellow shirt leaders doing serious jail time also. Then we should see Suthep and the Mad Monk also in prison for storming buildings and shutting down an election. Suthep himself said in 2010 it is ilegal for protestors to occupy government buildings. That is if they go after everyone and not just one side. How many times have we seen this though? One coup is successful and they slaughter all opposition until the people get sick of it and then another coup is successful and they slaughter all opposition and so in goes.....................ad nauseum.

Popular Post ALLSEEINGEYE
The witch hunt continues All this talk of reconciliation yet all we see is more revenge and oppression. This won`t end well. This is NOT a witch hunt, this is called accountability for your actions and it has to start somewhere or they will never change the culture of this country!! And yes, I hope the yellows get theirs for the airport too. I hope everyone that has been getting off easy will get theirs no matter which side they or you are on. Breaking the law should not take sides, you do the crime you do the time. Now if we can get some of these rich untouchables to be accountable we might be getting somewhere.
Popular Post drops
Among those found guilty by the court were Arisman Pongruangrong, Nisit Sinthuprai, Surachai Danwattananusorn, Singthong Buachum, Worachai Hema, and Payap Panket. Good to hear the red shirt leader Payap of the red shirt storming of King Chulalongkarn Hospital doing prison time for his role in the similar red shirt storming of the ASEAN Summit almost exactly a year earlier. Hope his punishment for that transgression is similar. BANGKOK, 28 April 2010 (NNT) – A Core figure of the anti-government United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) Payap led the UDD guards inside the King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital . While there should be prosecution of the yellow-shirt leaders, the severity of punishment will be nowhere near the same.Oh please the PAD were armed and around 100 people were injured as a direct result of the yellow shirt actions in occupying the airport. I'd ask for proof of your accusations that PAD was armed and 100 were injured, but then, you're on the wrong thread and no reason to encourage you to derail the topic further than you've already attempted. . Before you mix it with any of the guys above you I suggest you go back to at least 1970 and see how many identical coups there have been. Perhaps if it has something to do with his unproven accusatory topic derailment and isn't also just another topic derailing addition. . perhaps if you didn't chop my post up to suit your agenda and you actually did some research instead of being to bloody lazy and just set about attacking other posters. I hate the reds and yellows equally they are all scum and all need to be dealt with.

No last minute escape from the police by the chubby Arisaman this time. The witch hunt does continue and so it should, but it has to be against either party, be it RED or YELLOW. Reconciliation will only be achieved if the guilty of all sides are brought to justice. Perhaps the dear General PM needs to reset his priorities and become impartial?

Several yellow shirts got a verdict already and appealed.... Do you even read things before firing off ?? Denied bail.. Sent to jail.. Unlike the yellows who gained appeals.

While there should be prosecution of the yellow-shirt leaders, the severity of punishment will be nowhere near the same. It is amazing someone would post such non-sense. it was not an occupation it was a force shutdown that wreaked havoc to the country and air travelers all over the world. Remember the body found at Don muang and the barricades? You make it sound as if they were there to make a peaceful statement and airport operations went on as usual. I am glad to see the people locked up who tried to stop Abhist from leaving the summit. However so far this has been a completely one sided affair. Yes I am sure everyone remembers the PAD 'peacefully' ramming police barricades with lifted 4x4 pickups.. Peacefully invading TV stations... Peacefully occupying government house.. Peacefully disrupting the EC.. Peacefully shutting down the countries primary airport.. None of these things apparently are crimes..

Problem is this is the only way to get the people aligned with the shins. The crimes are real.. the corruption is real but they only get prosecuted if the PTP is not in power.. When the PTP is in power they go after the opposition too and never their own. So in a way this is the only way to get justice and these rotations are needed to go after the protected criminals.

Popular Post winstonc
The witch hunt continues All this talk of reconciliation yet all we see is more revenge and oppression. This won`t end well. To be honest.I hope the Thai people will stay quiet, grin and bare it. If there is to be a fight, mostly old people and university students die. I don't want to see any more wasted lives over this. I couldn`t agree more, however Prayuth (and the elite that pull his strings) seem hell bent on provoking the red side of things into violence. This is because they need an excuse to continue martial law and their increasingly authoritarian behaviour. The red strategy seems very simple, sit it out and wait for the inevitable to happen and when it does the one thing that gives the junta/elite their credibility is gone. The junta know that yet again they are being out witted and are trying to cause a reaction. I find Thaksin little better than Prayuth in terms of his equally autocratic behaviour in the past, but there is no denying he just out smarts his adverseraries over and over. They rely on brute force and fight everything like a brawl, he relies on intellect and fights everything like a game of chess. INTELLECT..you were doing so well up until then...hahahahahahahaha..spare us anymore sillyness..but you are funny...at least you cant be taken seriously ..
