Ang Thong: – Police and social workers are interviewing 15-year-old boy and eight-year-old girl, who are cousins, before deciding the next step for legal proceedings.

The father, 35, has filed a complaint at Mueang Ang Thong police station, charging the boy for committing statutory rape against his daughter.

He cited the medical examination report saying his daughter sustained serious injuries in the genitalia. He asked police to arrest and punish the boy for three sexual assaults.

After taking the preliminary statements from the respective families of the boy and the girl, police found that the two live and play together as cousins and neighbours.

The child play turned foul around late January after the boy returned home from a temple stay following his ordination as Buddhist novice.

The boy apparently convinced the girl to join him in a make-believe play that they were husband and wife.

Playing his role as husband, he asked the girl to remove her clothes so that they could consume their marriage.

In the first attempt, he and the girl engaged in heavy petting and could not have full sexual intercourse.

Last month, he again molested the girl.

On Thursday, the case came to light after he managed to rape the girl in the morning before sending her to school.

A teacher alerted the respective families after talking to the girl who appeared pale and sick.

The girl received medical treatments at the provincial hospital before her father reported the case to police.

Ang Thong police superintendent Colonel Chutrakool Yosmadee said he would review the report from social workers before drawing a conclusion on charging and prosecuting the boy.

Well some things just happen. You simply can't protect against all kind of problems. Beside here, some parents have a look after there child would have been the solution. But well 8 and 15 should be old enough to stay some time alone.

If I would be the parents and wouldn't seen any signs of craziness before, I wouldn't check them every 10 min. as well.

this is ridiculously sick

they should remove the balls of the perpertrator!

I would do that will everyone who rape children. Maybe would do it with everyone who rape.

Could possibly be because the boy is legally a minor and proceedings and any charges against him will differ from those against an adult.

Not a defense of him for he should be old enough to know right from wrong, but would have to ask what he learnt in his time at the temple ?

What the hell does a social worker have to do with charging someone who rapes an eight year old child? The charges or lack thereof will probably rely on the usual money factor.

My god, first post in the list is the usual anti-Thai rhetoric and pulls out the usual urban myth that all events involving Thai police are corrupt and involve money. Had, and known several people who have had, dealings with Thai police on several different types of matters, and the only ones that included some payment to police were traffic related, and even then not always.

In western countries crimes involving underage participants will have social workers, and often psychiatrists, involved, and their reports will help decide how charges proceed and the outcome in court. But don't let that stop some ignorant TV posters.

This young punk knew exactly what he was doing, and that it was wrong. Try him for statutory rape as an adult, lock his ass away for a long time.

They teach a lot in temples these days... doesn't matter if it's catholic or buddhist, you can never be sure off men that have to swear celibacy and wear robes...

Just been reading again and again through PIMAY1 statement,

trying to find the "usual anti Thai rhetoric". In could not find any

reference to corruption or money involving Thai police either.

I must honestly say RONDII, no clue what you're refering to. Only

you are referring to money, corruption and how the west would

handle such an incident.

But yes, don't let that stop you from ranting on about your own

ignorance.

Well my friend I'm not going to stoop to your level and call you ignorant because I see you are already a bit upset at my post. And feel free to review my 3k+ post searching for anyi-Thai rhetoric. You won't find any. Neither will you find any reference to the "urban myth that all events involving Thai police are corrupt and involve money."

You have misinterpreted my post I was making reference to the money factor of the settlement between the raped child's family and the rapist's family. And then of course the police not charging the rapist due to the money settlement. Scorecard gave a perfect example of the police not following the rule of law. I'll give you another example. Last month a local male school teacher disciplined my next door neighbor's nine year old boy by taking a bamboo stick and hitting him in the back of the head. The boy ducked, the bamboo struck his neck and cut a three inch gash in his neck. It knocked the boy down and he was bleeding profusely from the gash. They took him to the hospital. It took nine stitches to sew the gash up. I asked the parents if they were going to file child abuse charges against the teacher. You guessed it. They said wait until we talk to the teacher. They settled for 10,000 Baht and no police involved. I asked a police friend of mine about it and he said "up to them."

I stand by my question ,what the hell does a social worker have to do with charging someone who rapes an eight year old child? Raping an eight year old girl is a crime. Raping an eight year old girl is never not a crime. It is not in the realm of a social worker's responsibility to say if a rapist should be charged for the crime or not. It is in the realm of the social worker's responsibility to help point out the circumstances leading up to the rape and give suggestions how to prevent the same thing happening in the future.

And by the way I also have had dealings with Thai police on several different types of matters. Some demanding bribes and some not demanding bribes. So I do not paint them all with the same brush.

Being underage when he is charged with rape I wonder if that sentence will be served in youth detention and then him being released at 18.

I hope he is transferred to an adult jail and spends many many years there.

As for cutting his nuts off….We do life in a civilized society that type of punishment is more akin to what ISIS would do in Syria.

I think a long jail sentence is quite befitting for the crime thank you.

I agree with your opinion. But if I had an eight year old daughter and some guy raped her you could just call me the ISIS man of Thailand.

consultation with the social worker would be to collect evidence if that was even what was said, hate to point out the obvious but everyone here is getting their facts from an article so well written and translated that it has them trying to eat their pretend marriage

I'm not surprised. Maybe because this and the subject of robbery mentioned in a post happened in the same town, where they hang widows red undies on posts on top of the roof to prevent rain.

Very moot point. There would appear a connection and it demands an investigation, though none will happen as the monks are above the law, literally.

To one end, more opportunity means less desire to go work as a hooker but exposure to western consumer demands, such as Bt30,000 phones, means even these new legitimate opportunities cannot supply such disposable cash. And of course, the layabout young Thai men contribute nothing.

i tought judges mades judgement , not a police officer, who's job is supposed to be arresting the boy

adult crime should get adult punishment, not that slap on the hand or the eventual release at 18 .. why is that anyway ?

Personally I would too. In fact I would do worse than that, but then the government should not reflect the punishment a grieving father would perform.
