Hiring a man with a van (or pickup truck)

Featured Replies

I may need to move a motorcycle this week - it's (typically) developed fuelling problems just before it was due to go to the mechanic anyway. It's going to a certain mechanic who I trust, who lives about 15 km away. I may try to ride it there, but maybe it'd be better to hire someone with a truck.

Does anyone know if this service exists? I have an international license so presumably I could rent a vehicle of my own, but to be honest I don't fancy driving here (city centre).

Any help appreciated! : )

Thanks.

Your repair guy can't pick it up?

It may be helpful if you could mention in which area the bike needs to be moved.

Sorry I should've said, Bangkok, my mistake. It's ok though I think I'll make some phone calls and ask around.

Thanks for replying.

Get your Mrs to head out around your soi and ask people. Also get her to look at sign posts~ often there are hand written signs from guys with trucks for moving stuff around.

I still find it hard to believe that a motorcycle mechanic doesn't have access to a pickup truck... ;)

(DELETED) ask for Marc, he does exactly what you are asking for

PM for contact info

Try riding it. If you don't make it, pay a motorcycle taxi to foot-push you.
