Is it possible to clone or crack a usb dongle?

Featured Replies

Is a dongle of a usb stored in the boot loader itself? And realy impossible to clone it?

Want make some test and try it but maybe not an easy task?

dd bs=1M if=/dev/usb of=/tmp/usb_dongle_image.img

mount -o loop /tmp/usb_dongle_image.img /mnt/usb2

cd /mnt/usb2

or something like that, i'm watching the rugby.

A USB dongle for what? That's pretty generic terminology! In Windows there is no boot-loader for dongles. However there may be an Autorun or Autoplay associated with it, if it's a memory stick. Otherwise an installed driver that supports it is loaded by Windows when it's plugged in. If it's a hardware device such as a modem, transceiver, or adapter it surely can't be cloned or copied. That's electronics within the dongle.
