On my last trip to Isaan I bought my wife a new mobile...only a relatively cheapo one (5000bht), we was just about to walk out when the girl behind the counter asks if they can take a photo holding the phone up etc..for promotional material...sure I said, no problem...went to put my arm round the wife and get central in the pic, no no the girl said, we don't want your wife in it, just you and the phone!.... wifey was so impressed

So you then declined the offer ... yes ... or you don't understand how things should be here yet. Yes I bet she was impressed.

Yep, politely said that we come as a package ... I do learn the ways of Thai women...slowly....and then I realise I've got it wrong when the rules change

And an Isuzu MuX ...which is why she got a cheap phone ...I am genuinely "thrifty" though so the shirt would suit

yep, had to push past all the adoring young beauties ....dont think the looks come into it, just he fact that this multi millionaire falang (we are all like that aren't we?) had bought a phone from there little shop.
