I searched the forum's history, but didn't find anything.

My boss just came back from Chaengwattana and was refused the notification of staying more than 90 days in Thailand.

He got his 1 year Non-immigrant B visa with multiple entries in Germany at a consulate back in September 2014. He came back from Myanmar at the beginning of January and now wanted to notify that he will stay in Thailand for more than 90 days. However they refused and told him that this is not possible as he has to extend his visa first.

Anybody knows why he got refused? The visa is valid until September 2015. Why does he have to extend his visa first, even if it is valid?!

Edit: After doing some more reserach, I assume that the correct procedure would have been to apply for "Extension of stay" with TM 7 first?

As said his visa only allows him to stay for 90 days at a time so no report is needed.

He could apply for a one year extension of stay with a company documents and etc if he has a work permit.
