Samut Sakhon to Bangkok - by bus (after last train)

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Was thinking of a trip to Samut Sakhon on Sunday, but coming back after the last train leaves at 7pm. Anyone know if there are any buses back to Bangkok around 8pm? I can't seem to find anything online, apparently there are buses to Sai Mai but the southern bus terminal is ridiculously inconvenient!

No Thai ever uses that name. And I assume-just to be sure-you mean the amphoe muang? Its called MahaChai and its also since around 2002 effectively an outer end of BMTA citybuses, notably the AC7 and AC68-to resp. Hualampong-RamIV and Banglamphu. these will run/depart till around 21.00.

That Railway, so infinitely beloved by farang trainspotters, has a 2nd stretch till Samut Songkram-aka as Mae Klong, which is beyond all that. As its a kind of isolated island-line with just 2 trains, these are often cancelled if its defective.
