Public Holiday April 06

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

Just a heads up that April 06 (Monday) Chakri Day is a public holiday so plan accordingly. Alcohol sales and bar openings should be normal. Immigration will be closed. Also a bank holiday for major branches as per BOT but mini branches such as in malls most likely will be open.

What would we do without you Tywais

Waiting for the new 2016 callander

Are you going to tell us when it done?

Anyone know for definite the situation with bars tomorrow? Open as normal or not serving alcohol?

It's normal as it is not a Buddhist holiday and there has been no news announcement stating otherwise. From two articles, there has been no history of closure. If there is it will be a precedent for Chiang Mai. Will see if any bar owners have been informed otherwise.

Chakri Day commemorates the founding of the current dynasty by its first king, Rama I.

There is no history of mandated bar closure on this day.

However there is an oddity and that is Phuket appears to be imposing such.

thanks mate, cheers. heard similar from a couple of chiang mai bar owners tonight. seems like it's not a buddha or royal day so bars open as per.
