Funniest stand up comedians of all time?

Featured Replies

My top 2 would have to be Jack Dee and Dave Chappelle.

The sickest top 2 would have to be Frankie Boyle and Chubby Brown, although chubbs is the man.

It's so true about the Thai massage. First one I had I was too polite to say it hurts like a bitch, never again.

I saw "The Little Waster" on telly in the 80's but, being a "Soft Southerner", I couldn't understand what he was saying!

The Pub Landlord

Billy Connolly

Chris Rock

And some of the Irish ones I can't remember.

Actually Bill Hicks would have to be up there too

Who?

I have to go with Robin Williams as he is the only comedian to make me laugh so hard that I thought I was going to piss my pants...

There have been lots of really good comedians over the years, each with their own approach to making the audience laugh... Some make you laugh by railing at the machine like Carlin or Hicks... Some used bawdy language to get a laugh like Lenny Bruce or Redd Foxx... Some played the racial stereotypes like Eddie Murphy or Richard Pryor... Then you get the duets like Martin and Lewis, Hope and Crosby, Amos and Andy... Then come the purely silly guys like Steve Martin and Robin Williams... Then you have to consider the old timers, like Red Skelton, Jack Benny, Jackie Gleason, Danny Kaye, Don Rickles, Rodney Dangerfield, and on and on and on... Nothing better than a good laugh to brighten the day...

Frank Carson (its the way I tell 'em)

Dave Allen

Billy Connoly

pure filth - has to be Roy Chubby Brown.

Mike Yarwood, although I'm not sure he is actually a stand up comedian.

Brilliant Impersonator though.

I find few American comedians funny,Robin Williams,Richard Pryor, are the exception, the others

seem to think shouting makes them funny,I suppose British humour is strange to them.

Rodney Dangerfield makes me laugh even after watching him over and over on movies like Back to School. He had his own style that kind of made even the biggest looser feel that life is not so bad.... No respect :)

Serdar Somuncu for the German speaking folks...

From which part of Germany are you from Chef? If you can speak German, this one's for you:

some finds on spew tube

dont worry about pissing your pant sir les will beat you to it!

or for something completely different taking observational humor to the limit

Robin Williams, pure genius.

Billy Connolly a lot of his shows were ad libbed.

Max Miller would have been great in his day
