My wifes father is not so well and we are planning on flying out to Thailand in the next few days if he gets worse.

My issue is, My wife is wanting to stay out in Thailand for 6 weeks if we travel out to Thailand

My passport will expire on the 11th December 2015, so that means that any travel that i do would mean that i return back to the UK before the 11th June 2015 due to Thailand 6 month rule on UK Passports.

Because we are going for more than a month, Will i still be able to get a 60 day Visa from Hull even though i have to travel back before the 11th June.

The plan would be to travel to Hull in the morning and and then onto Manchester for a flight to Manchester.

The other alternative is to try and get a same day passport from Liverpool and then travel over to hull or just not bother with the visa and i stay for 30 days

Any help would be great.

Ps trying to contact hull, but the lines are busy

I have requested this be moved to the correct forum.

There is no problem remaining in Thailand with less than 6 months on your passport. Embassies might not issue a visa if you have less than six months on your passport, but you'll have more than six months if you're getting the visa now. Once you get the visa and have entered the country with more than six months on your passport, they do not make you leave just because there's less than six months on your passport as time passes.

There should be no problem with the airline if you have a valid visa and return air tickets. Depending on when you plan to travel you should still have six months remaining on the passport before 11th June anyway. But reconfirm that with the airline. Maybe they misunderstood what you were asking (or maybe I did)..With a visa and return air tickets they really have no reason to refuse to board you.

If you opt for doing this why not kill 2 birds with 1 stone and obtain the 60-day visa from the Liverpool Consulate instead of travelling all the way over to Hull for this once you've got your new passport?

You might find the Liverpool Consulate to be a surer bet for the visa in any event since Hull seem to have tightened up their procedures after being deemed by the London Embassy to be naughty boys for issuing visas when they shouldn't have!

Only for the tourist visa will you need 6 months remaining on your passport.

You will be able to stay in the country after the you have less than 6 months without a problem.

In reality since you are from the UK you do not truly need 6 months remaining on your passport to enter the country. You only need a passport valid for the length of your stay. Fill in the info here to confirm: http://www.staralliance.com/en/services/visa-and-health/
