Police detain man who threatened to burn down Central Pattaya apartment block

PATTAYA: -- On Wednesday afternoon, Pattaya Police were called to an apartment block in Central Pattaya to deal with a drunken Muay Thai Boxer who had started a fire inside his rented room and had earlier threatened to burn down the entire block.

Khun Panturak aged 21 was taken to Pattaya Police Station while Investigators inspected his ground floor room and found a plastic bottle containing gasoline. A small amount of fire damage was sustained to flooring close to the entrance of his room.

Khun Prajob aged 50 is the owner of the block and explained that the room had originally been rented to a woman who was in a relationship with Khun Panturak. However the relationship ended and the woman moved out and ever since then Khun Panturak has been seen to drink heavily and on a regular basis.

On Wednesday he was drinking with other residents when he suddenly retreated to his room. At this point he was heavily intoxicated and was shouting to others about burning down the block.
