No need to bother with evidence or proof or anything like that!Just out of curiosity, how are you going to spin your way out of it if it turns out to be totally unconnected with the red shirts? Yeah, yeah the evidence proved the driver killed Akeyuth as well!!! If someone punched you in the face 20 times by a RS and then you put a blindfold on and you got punched in the face again…Who would you think did it. The PDRC! I personally hope it was a one off and is not the red shirts as we do not need the reds rising again to unleash their brand of terror on the peaceful majority. But then I hoped the Bangkok bombing was a one off as well. I am sure I will hope the next red shirt bombing will be a one off as well and the next and the next….Until they destabilize confidence in the government. They said it themselves that if the economy fails it will gel the previous opposing political parties to unite and oppose the govt. This came from Jatuporn, HRW and Crisis group. All entities linked to red shirt groups with jatuporn being the leader of the group. I also remember the PDRC blowing themselves up just to strenuously deny the fact the reds did that as well. Will history ever teach you... Stab a ferkin sausage, he's back. I was kinda hoping that you'd gone on permanent duty to Ulan Bator or somewhere. Wherever it is you've been it didn't dull that imagination of yours. Have you considered writing childrens' books? Your ability to conjure up fairy stories could earn you a fortune. Direct evidence of involvement by any person has not been established but by these announcements, people are led to believe that it is a done deal. Somewhat like the Burmese suspects in the Koh Tao murder last year... BTW - how is that progressing? Or should I ask? Perhaps they believe that people will just forget them. Hmmmm. The investigators say that it should not have taken more than three hours so that would require an average speed of 100 kph which, to achieve, would require speeds of 120 to 140 much of the time. Since the national speed limit is 90 kph these investigators are suggesting that the vehicle should have been speeding, the sure fire way to draw the attention of the Highway Police. Highway police????? But to play it safe I expect the military/police will wait another week or so to make any arrests---if there is anyone still left in country to arrest. EyesWideOpen Posted April 19, 2015 Share Posted April 19, 2015 (edited) I believe normal procedure in the rest of the world is for the police to quietly investigate an incident, determine who the culprit is, arrest them, then hold a press conference saying why they arrested that person. Here in amazing Thailand, the press conferences are like something out of a dark comedy, with their function being to warn whoever committed the criminal act so they can do a runner. I always liked the classic move where the police instead of actually using the name of the suspected person , use the first letter of the name of the suspect. Am pretty sure this whole thing will do the classic Thai fadeaway, but if events move forward, and the guy does a runner, the police will have some serious egg on their face . However they have had so much egg on their face over the years, it probably does not matter to them anymore.
