maybe you start importing Nespresso machines and capsules? Or get in touch with them and you can buy the franchise for Thailand?

I also have a Nespresso machine and get my supplies from Hong Kong or Switzerland whenever I travel there. But agree it would be easier to buy it here.

Ho guess what I just found in Bangkok?

Awful lot of numbers I noticed.... Still think it's 100% coffee?

At 329 b a box in BKK that's $AU13.00 and $8.50 at home puts it in the super rich class of poisons, do enjoy your coffee guys.

Where on the picture I can read anything that indicates that it isn't 100% coffee?

(I don't like Nestle, but on the picture I can't see anything new)

I'm not going to go through every type of coffee (bah.gif ) on it, but the one I did was 30%.

he talks about additives not about tax.....

That photo above is of the Dolce Gusto coffees, these come in all sorts of flavours.

Some of them are a '2 capsule system' one containing the coffee and the other some kind of milk like substance with flavour. I have no doubt there's plenty of additives in a chocolate mocha style coffee but in the regular espresso I think it's just coffee.

I opened one up once to see how it worked, it contained some kind of thin plastic type membrane and some coffee granules. There's not a lot to them really.

Any good machine of that kind costs 50000 thb or its pure shiiite, so Nespresso is a lot cheaper !

They charge what you can afford to pay, protectionism, you know Thailand has a coffee industry tooooo.

The coffee capsule's are a new form of processed food loaded with chemicals and calories enjoy your coffee guys, I will stick to my instant at home and a latte when I go out.

Had to be said biggrin.png

The whole capsule system is a scam.

Cheap machines making you dependent of certain capsules which are protected from the competition.

I want to decide on my own which coffee and how much.

and who or what stops you from doing that? coffee1.gif (nespresso...)

there are lots of machines which grind the coffee and make espresso fully automatic. So no reason to use the capsule if someone don't want to.

Yes. Daylight robbery. I will continue to buy them in HKg or CH.

And note at the bottom...

All prices are in THB, Copyright 2014, Nespresso© trademark is owned by Societe Des Produits Nestle SA and is not affiliated with this website,

It looks like someone has already imported a container load of these machines and is already fleecing the overhyped local consumer frenzy feeding the local market.

Everywhere I can read that these machines that cost 2490 are as good as Nespresso that cost 13000 thb:

anybody has tried here ?

I feel like to support an entrepreneur instead of a billions yearly profit company as Nestle !

I called in there last week, they have a selection of machines and their coffee capsules - prices were very good for both. They were very helpful to me as well. A Farang shop as well.

I made the mistake of buying the Lavazza system from somewhere else and they cannot supply the Lavazza blue system (patented) so I am going to chuck it after I run out of capsules because they are maddly expensive in Bangkok. I like the idea of the capasules because I dont drink coffee very often but like a nice expresso with a creamy top on weeknd mornings and no prep or cleaning hassles is good for me. I will buy my next one from cafecaps.

Expresso is so easy to make it comes down to the coffee you like, the actual pot you make it in is inexpensive seems crazy to buy a machine and capsules just for expresso.

My Saeco cost something like 200-300 Euro in Europe, even with the inflated Thai price it is far away from 50K.

It works perfect. My parents have the model before since 15-20 years, with some service and parts from Ebay it is still working.

Do you have a photo or link to the kind of machine that you use ? It's quite cheap for a fully automatic machine with grinder.
