FM Tanasak affirms Thai Govt's commitment to strengthen Thailand-UN Partnership

BANGKOK, 2 May 2015 (NNT) - General Tanasak Patimapragorn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, reaffirmed the Thai Government’s commitment to enhance Thailand-UN partnership and cooperation under the United Nations Partnership Framework (UNPAF) 2012-2016.

The pledge was made during his meeting on Thursday with Mr. Haoliang Xu, Assistant Secretary-General, Assistant Administrator and Director of the Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific of the UNDP.

Both sides discussed the cooperation under the existing UNPAF as well as future cooperation under a new framework. They agreed that the new framework should focus on strengthening competitiveness, education and innovation for sustainable development and support Thailand’s role in the South-South cooperation. Both sides expressed satisfaction on the progress they have undertaken in line with the UNDP Strategic Plan to promote the regional office in Bangkok as regional hub in Asia and the Pacific.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Luc Steven, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative, and Mr. Martin Hart-Hansen, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative.

So the UN has accepted that Thailand IS their father ?

"They agreed that the new framework should focus on strengthening competitiveness, education and innovation for sustainable development and support Thailand’s role in the South-South cooperation."

I'd rather see cooperation on human rights. The disgusting slavery issue seems to have reached a new high with the horror story of the Rohingya in the south.

So the UN has accepted that Thailand IS their father ?

I thought it was the other way around.

Or is it just Thaksin who's the bastard child?
