roamp
Any way to search for words such as wok, CIA, USA etc.? Or is four letter words such as @#%! the minimum allowed...well, just wondering.
Totster
From the message that shows when a search for a 3 letter word is attempted.. One or all of your search keywords were below 4 characters or you searched for words which are not allowed Hope that answers your question. mark lamai
one solution is to put the word in quotes with a fourth character being * which is a wildcard meaning any letter of the alphabet. then of course use Firefox browser so you can quickly search the pages returned for the word. Chang_paarp
Another way is to enclose the 3 letters in ", ie "CIA" or "USA". Seems to work.
roamp
I've tried all three of these suggestions and none of them work. The error message telling me to use a minimum four letter word doesn't help. I don't know of a four letter word spelling for cat or dog. Searching dog* gets the same error message as searching for "dog". Remember I am not talking about the Google forum search at the top of the page. That works. I am using the search at the bottom of the page of the Chiang Mai forum because I don't want to search the entire thaivisa forum. Any other suggestions? lannarebirth
Include a common word in with your search, like "a" or "the" or "my". Something like that.
mark lamai
just tried my above suggestion "dog*" it worked and returned your post. "dog" - returns an error. make sure you use " double quotes. the * is a standard SQL wildcard that most search progs support.
roamp
You're right, it works on the search topic at the bottom of this page. But on the search forum at the bottom of the Chiang Mai Forum page, the same "dog*" search returns the same error message as before. I also tried the same search on the Bangkok Forum and got the same error. Odd. just tried my above suggestion"dog*" it worked and returned your post. "dog" - returns an error. make sure you use " double quotes. the * is a standard SQL wildcard that most search progs support.
