While not standard western orchestra fair, there is a lot of interesting material on this upcoming concert. The 3 composers featured are "generational" as Chou Wen-Chung was the teacher of Pulitzer Prize winner Zhou Long, who was the teacher of foremost Thai composer Narong Prangcharoen. Also, the Chinese suona played in Prangcharoen's concerto is quite interesting - incendiary in places, while at other times plaintively mournful.

Finally - conductor Delta David Gier is a treasure - having conducted top symphonies around the world (including 40 concerts with the New York Phil), he has been great to work with and will surely create some great musical moments for the audience!
