Micro SD Card for Android phone?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a Samsung Note without an SD card but recently I've been loading Amazon Kindle books on it and have run out of space. Where can I buy one and how much do they cost? Any pitfalls to be aware of such as fakes?

Lazada usually have the best prices. Only buy from Lazada and not a third party seller on their platform. I have used both Class 4 and Class 10 cards, with no issue. The Kingston cards usually come with the adapter, unlike the SanDisks.

In Chiang Mai, I would buy from Power Buy or Robinsons. Tesco Lotus and Express plus Big C also sell genuine cards at reasonable money, if you want it immediately.

Amorn Electronics on the north side of the most... Also walk around the computer mall it is in... Also look at your local 7-11 they sell them too but usually not the higher capacity ones...

Banana have them, along with the SD adapter so you can use them in most modern laptops.

In fact most of the phone shops in Airport Plaza will have them. Kingston are OK and a few hundred baht up, depending on size.

Anywhere that sells electronics. Many fakes around though.

And the winner is......... 7-11. 299 baht for 8g including an SD port adaptor and a USB port adaptor. Thai brand with a dodgy Japanese-ish name but so far so good. Thanks for all the advice, everyone.

I agree with LarryBird--the cheap Thai brand might well be OK at the moment but, if/when it fails on you then that's the end of all your data.

SanDisk are the best, and Kingston second--it really is a case of getting what you pay for.

Its only for a phone....and they arent cheap thai....its cheap chinese copy's.
