Sommai: Thailand needs to develop its bourse

BANGKOK, 19 May 2015, (NNT) - Thailand needs to better develop her stock market after joining the Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) initiative of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), said the Minister of Finance, Sommai Phasee, yesterday.

The comment was made after a seminar on the “SSE Regional Dialogue Southeast Asia,” during which he told the participants that he was satisfied with the current state of the stock market development. However, further development must be ensured once Thailand joins the SSE initiative, in order for the nation to gain recognition from local and foreign investors, according to Mr. Sommai.

He said the effort is possible but it requires cooperation from all sides.

The Sustainable Stock Exchanges initiative is a peer-to-peer learning platform for exploring how exchanges, in collaboration with investors, regulators, and companies, can promote responsible investment for sustainable development.

Don't think of expanding further until you rein in insider trading with more teeth and actions...

So it's true, money does grow on trees.

I wonder where all the food comes from.
