mae sai border closing time? getting back to cm late?

bought my bus ticket about 3 weeks ago, asking the man for a ticket on wednesday the 20th, when i got the ticket only checked the times.

get on the bus today and someone says i think your in my seat, sure as heck i have a ticket for saturday the 20th of june, well my mistake for not checking the ticket properly after purchase i suppose and lesson learned

i was able to secure a seat on a bus leaving today at 1230pm, arriving mae sai at 510pm, will the border crossing still be open at that time? forgive my ignorance i dont know if it has opening hours, the last green vip bus leaves mae sai at 330pm, anyway to get back from mae sai after 6pm tonight?

I would just accept it and a stopover in mae sai. Just check in a hotel such as top north.

I doubt the border will still be open but if you are lucky then you can get a small bus to chiang rai and then countless buses back to chiang mai will set off before 9pm.

For me a stopover good excuse to taste the banging nightlife along thr strip there!

at least 21:00 Thai side/20:30 Myanmar side, with future plans to stay open until Midnight.

It's definitely 8:30pm, you won't have a problem.

I stayed at the Khanthongkham Hotel last time on an overnight stay (long day bus up and back) and can recommend it, it's exactly in front of where the Songteaw's take you to the bus station.
