Army Chief satisfied with NCPO's achievements

BANGKOK, 22 May 2015 (NNT) - The Army Commander-in-Chief said he is satisfied with what the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has achieved to keep Thailand peaceful.

Army Chief General Udomdej Sitabutr, also in his capacity as NCPO Secretary General, said he will continue to work harder to restore the country’s peace and order. He also called for public support to the NCPO’s goals.

The Army Commander said video tape recording on the NCPO’s 1-year performance has been made following Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha’s order. The video presentation is expected to help Thai people have better understanding of the NCPO and the government’s work.

He added that politicians, academics and political activists will be invited to share their views at a meeting held by the Army’s Center of Reconciliation and Reform next month. The meeting is the second of its kind after the coup and will be held every 1-2 months to promote sharing of ideas on national issues.

Shouldn't we be hearing from General Prayut in his capacity as NCPO CHIEF that he will continue to work harder to restore the country’s peace and order? After all he alone holds the reigns of absolute power over the Thai people.

General Udomdej called for public support to the NCPO’s goals.

Why would the public support the current and future suppression of their sovereignty, rights, and liberties? The Thai people now are like indentured serfs living at the will of aristiocrats who want to be commended for their control.
