Fishing in a canal in outskirts of Bangkok,

Featured Replies

Tomorrow I have a BBQ at a relatives place in BangBuaTong on the outskirts of Bangkok.. There's a canal behind the house and I found a fishing rod in the garage.

I plan in going to a tackle shop near my house in wongwian yai this afternoon.

What kind of tackle should I get? Hook size, sinker or float?

What bait?

I fished a lot at home in oz but never in a canal in Bangkok :)

Not planning on eating anything.. Just keen to wet a line.

you will probably be best with a spinner. Most likely catch a snakehead or similar. The tackle shop should know if you explain to him where you going to fish.

Got a few things.. And some crawling things in a foam boxpost-92327-1432341278075_thumb.jpg

ok ... I see you got some light sinkers, swivel / trace and the hooks #9. The canal don't look so bad ... not what I imagined .. it looks reasonably cleaner than most.

Well , good luck hope you catch something ...

I would have liked to join you for the BBQ but I'm a bit busy .....
