I usually go "over the top" with everything I do - good, bad and indifferent

Why do you think I married a Thai- Chinese Lady?

Because it was "over the top," and still is, mostly in a very good waythumbsup.gif

The easiest is probably เว่อร์ "wer", the Thai adaptation of the English word "over" (the top) :)

Don't go over the top - อย่าเว่อร์ yaa wer

From the Royal Institute's "Dictionary of New Words, Volume 1"

เว่อร์ ก. ทำเกินพอดี เช่น เขาชอบแต่งตัวเว่อร์ ใส่เพชรเต็มตัว
ไปทำงาน. (ตัดมาจาก อ. over).

" . . . verb. to do something in excess. Sample sentence, "She likes to overdress; she wears diamonds all over her body when she goes to work." (abbreviated form of the English "over")"

She said Thais just say the English word "OVER"

Please check and get back to me if this is wrong

Yes, this is correct. You can say 'over' or 'ver' to someone when they are doing something in excess.

เว่อร์ is the short form of โอเวอร์ (over).

So both eric67 and DavidHouston's answers are correct.

เกินไป, kheun pai, would the more common expression. Although I doubt being on top of a Thai-Chinese woman qualifies for use of the expression.

Actually - they prefer to be over the top of you, hence the view from below as you watch - seemingly detached from the scene altogetherclap2.gif

as well as yaa wer na, could use yaa yuh na (like 'don't make a scene/start an issue')

Some results for yaa yuh (อย่าเยอะ) in Google images, for example.
