Over 2,500 Thai & foreign bikers join Tour of Srivichai Open to AEC 2015

NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, 24 May 2015 (NNT) – Over 2,500 Thai and foreign bicyclists have participated in a charity bike rally in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.

The rally “Tour of Srivichai Open to AEC 2015” kicked off at Army Region 4. The activity is jointly held by the Army Region 4 and 12 private and public organizations.

The objectives of the event are to help families affected by the Deep South unrest, promote tourism and use of bicycles as environmentally-friendly transport, as well as enhance the public’s awareness of the importance of physical exercise.

The competition is divided into three categories: a 100-kilomter distance, a 70-kilometer distance and a 25-kilometer distance. The races are taking place in Kiriwong Village in Lansaka District where the air is widely regarded as best quality in the country.

Proceeds of the event will be given to organizations tasked with helping families of victims of the Deep South violence.
