Reading form DS-82 carefully...

If you have to answer NO to the statement :

"I can submit my most recent U.S. passport book and/or U.S. passport card with this application."

Obvious NO, coz you don't have a passport...

Then:

"If you answered NO to any of the statements above, STOP - You cannot use this form! You must apply on application form DS-11 by making a personal appearance before an acceptance agent authorized to accept passport applications. Visit travel.state.gov to find your nearest acceptance facility."

The DS-11 form is mentioned on both websites, not the DS-82

So, again, your information is proven incorrect

Dear all,

The goal of this topic, hence the whole Thai Visa Forum, is to provide or obtain, useful, helpful and accurate information.

Its not my intent to keep proving that some information, provided by other posters, is (deliberated) wrong or misleading.

I would like us to be able to stay on topic, that is why we have forum rules.

From your post #1: As also from a todays posting about a lost passport

If you think your information about how one might obtain a new permanent US passport -- should one be in the unfortunate position of having theirs lost or stolen -- then great. I'm sure they will thank you.

From your post #1: As also from a todays posting about a lost passport

If you think your information about how one might obtain a new permanent US passport should one be in the unfortunate position of having theirs lost or stolen, great. I sure they will thank you.

Forum rules are clear:

"from your post #1: as also from a todays posting about a lost passport" should be quoted in full context and be

"As also from a todays posting about a lost passport and the request for the receipt for the visa fee"

Further, since my english is not native, i have a huge problem on understanding your last sentence:

"If you think your information about how one might obtain a new permanent US passport should one be in the unfortunate position of having theirs lost or stolen, great. I sure they will thank you."

Could you please clarify for my correct understanding?

Yes -- your information is wrong.

This is one of the most bizarre "debates" I have ever seen on Thia Visa, and that is really saying something !!

Dear JL, here, as a reminder , is the original posting.

You are so far out of bounds now, I really do wonder why you have not been banned from this particular thread.

I see you ranting, but how does any of it relate to this topic?

Based on some other posts i submit this

The moment i receive my passport with visa, stamp or any document, i do the following:

take a picture, with my smartphone, from any document, stamp, remark or whatsoever, store it on my smartphone AND sent a copy to my e-mailadres.

So at any time, in any circumstance, i am able to produce a copy from my documents.

Even in case of a lost or stolen smartphone, you can acces your email from any other computer

As also from a todays posting about a lost passport and the request for the receipt for the visa fee,

this receipt also contains your visa number...

I will make sure that i also have a picture of that receipt...

Being able to produce a police report, with exact data, will be helpful to acquire new documents and at the immigration office...

This topic is not on how to do in case of lost or stolen passport.

This topic is about Tips and tricks for Visa and document problems.

I refrain myself from giving incorrect information and or opinion, i refer merely toward the content of an official website, without taking out of context the websites content.

I do however react, if incorrect information is given, i don't have the habit to turn my cheeck or to look the other way...

Thanks -- the most bizarre part was the video of the guy with the scar holding his passport as positive proof of ID and citizenship. However, it's been swell. Over-&-out.
