As of late they have really tightened up on ID's from Dongsak to Samui.

1/ Bookings, bike bookings are now near the entrance, the middle kiosk, no longer at the terminal building itself.

2/ Big signs that they are complying with government regulations which have come into effect:

At the entry, you require ID, they scan & hand back.:

Thai ID, Passport Or driver's licence.

When you pay for ticket, produce same

When you are driving onto the ferry the same.

You have to produce it 3 times.

Will check from Samui again on the weekend as there was no checks last week.

Vehicle thefts are low on Samui, difficult to get the vehicle off the island, good check, now they need to do this for passengers also.
