So buisiness takes me to Pattaya , Phuket , Bangkok and Samui on a regular basis.

Have my regular places while away,..

Phuket , Aussie Bar on Bangla

Bkk , Morning Night Soi 4

Pattaya , general bars beach road

Samui , fishermans village.

So where are yours on your travels , not the ones where you reside just the ones you like to visit when your away on buisiness / pleasure ?

Curious as ive pretty much settled into these places over the years and starting to think be nice to change.

Anywhere they serve a decent cold beer and a few friendly regulars to chat with. Always finding somewhere new.

Depends upon the company Big Mango.

Tonight its a quality spot.....but not in LOS.

On Samui Frog n Gecko or the Aussie pub if Mark James is playing.

For me, in Bkk, at the back of Seacon Square, KPA, Sri Nakarin, Lat Prao or Tawana square right next to the mall Bang kapi..

Depends on who's paying, otherwise: My own four walls.

So you have your own four walls everywhere you travel , or did you not read my OP ?

Yes. It's called a hotel room.

No, funnily enough I had to go down to soi 4 the other week, had forgotten just what an eye sore the place is.

The only bar I use there is The Bus Stop, hassle free.

What amazes me is the number of sad looking miserable gits I see in these bars.

If you are looking for something off the tourist track, try Coco Walk, right next to the BTS station, just google it.

Each to their I own I guess

Soi 4 has changed enormously but Jools still caters for serious drinkers who do not want screeching Issan 20 year olds hanging off them.

Chequers and the Bus Stop also worth a drink, but sadly all the older bars in Nana plus the likes of the Madrid in Patpong are suffering from a customer shortage as newcomers are more attracted to the Plastic Paddy/Brit/Sports bars which now proliferate.

Favourite watering hole .... my room. I don't like listening to farang rabbit on about nothing.

Your "room", not exactly hitting the big money then?

Isolating yourself from the world (by spending too much time between your own four walls) can be a symptom of clinical depression Steve, might be worth seeking professional advice.

Just try and make it into the kitchen a couple times a day Steve. For a change of scenery . Im sure you will be fine.

And how is the Nasa Vegas ?

To be honest my good man, frankly I am amazed that a gentleman of refined tastes such as your good self would even know of the existence of such a place, LOL

Would depend on which side of the railway tracks he is located.

I always find it amusing as I drive over the level crossing train tracks to cast a glance at some of the farang in the area.

The sooner they build a footbridge there the better..

Soi 4 is a filtration system.....when I have to go meet someone there I just laugh at the hopeless and pathetic misery all around me.

Since I graduated to Soi 7/1 my life has changed I can tell you!

Phuket bangla road yes Aussie or bar funk 3,2etc or any pool bar in hotel usually attracts me in the arvo.

Pattaya soi 6 at some ladyboy bar with pool tables and sheeshas out back and cheap and strong drinks. Or the beer garden.

Bangkok soi 33 tenderloins or soi 39 few long necks with some khao pad. I like having a few soi 63 best Thai food and good chilled music with a beer tower

Chiang mai Dbar or mart and may(suan luang)or good view

I live and work around Patpong, so I enjoy some joints there...for several different reasons.

There is a semi- open air place, directly opposite the office on Surawonge.

It's called Koba Beer and it has great food for a place like that and the beers are reasonably priced all night. Also: the music does not 100% suck (like so may places on Patpong) and is held at a level that you can actually talk without screaming!

Another one is a classic: Cosmos Bar on Patpong 2- you can actually hear yourself think. Ladies are nice and not pushy, beer is cheap!

A newer joint is "The Smokin' Pug" on Surawong- a bit pricey, but the food there is E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T!

Apart from that, I like the Monkey Bar in Nang Thong/ Khao Lak or the Degree Pub in Bang Niang/ Khao Lak.

Love to hang out there on my (numerous) holiday trips!
