Is it just me...or has the hot season outstayed its welcome???? I live in the Pathumtani area and the temperatures have been very high 30's and into the 40's for a long time now. I've lived here over a decade now and am wondering....is it getting hotter, or did the cool season lull me into forgetting how hot it gets? How is it where you are? Whens the bl**dy rain gonna come?

Yes. It really IS unusually hot for this time of the year. When I go outside it's like I'm not getting a suntan but third degree burns. My electricity bill went up an extra 1'500thb and the aircon isn't really helping much.

It is the combination of heat and discomfort that produces discomfort. It mat rain the night before, cooling everything down, but when the sun starts to evaporate all that moisture, that's when you may7 even feel unwell. The Thais certainly don't like it, I have only respect for the son in law that is preparing for the rice sowing..

This is the price we pay for the coolest winter in years.

It was a good un...Its June already!! I keep thinking its still May! I guess that's because normally the rains would have started a more consistently a few weeks back. Haven't had too much of it, not many overcast days either.

True. What are the earliest signs the rain is coming? Just give me a sign Please.

Dunno mate. It looks like its threatening to rain....and then nothing! Its pretty hot here again today, says its 37 degrees but I think that's being conservative....

At 13:00 it was 34.5 according the weather bureau website. With a 30% chance of rain today. http://www.tmd.go.th/en/province.php?id=19

Hotter than that here. That sounds positively lovely....

The 30% came true it is now pouring down. Plenty of thunder and lightning also.

It's raining in Ubon and a decent chance of rain all this week! Please tell me that's a sign of things to come in Jomtien?????

So 31 degrees is too hot for you (temp in Jomtein). ....then you're definitely in the wrong place!blink.png

Stay inside and turn on your air condition cheesy.gifcoffee1.gif

Send some this way. I only have air in the bedroom...I suffer through it during the day. It makes those afternoon showers all the sweeter.

Yes, its been very hot here in Pattaya and no rain for weeks. So didnt expect that .

Anyway it's time for me to leave soon for my Scandinavian vacation and the summer just starting up there, looking for ward to experience a fresh breeze and 22 degrees celsius. And no pollution compared with Thailand, no littering in the streets .

But it comes with a price, and I'm on a budget so only 3 weeks and I'll be back thumbsup.gif

Don't really even need the heat, do ya?

I'm assuming you meant heat and humidity?

Based on the tmd.go.th site, it looks like there will be no respite in BKK this week... And it's been miserable for way too long this year.

Im in the south...been averaging around 35 for weeks, but this last week we have rain in the evening, or a storm mid afternoon....

Right now (just had storm), it's about 27 degrees....But the humidity knocks you around during the day. Especially if you are getting on in years...biggrin.png

Maybe.....it just seems hotter...for longer. The other day it got down to about 33 degrees here and it felt like heavan!

Sorry! I didn't realise you were just looking for a chat & forgive me for providing a link which answered your question laugh.png

(recorded 51 last week here, but only 10% humidity, in the shade, 48 & 30% humidity today, not even summer yet, can we switch places?)
