edd
Whilst up in Udon Thani I was given a Pork Pie & I must say it was the best I have had in Thailand. I was informed that they were from Pattaya. The company is called Peters pies. I have tryed to google the company but no luck. I'm hoping that some one knows the location etc. Thanks in advance. stoneyboy
I think you'll find they are imported from the UK,they aren't made in Thailand. Probably purchased at Villa Market, food land or one of the many western grocery shops in Pattaya. http://www.petersfood.co.uk

Odds on they are made in Thailand by one of the many decent pie producers. I don't think that link has anything to do with it.

While in this instance the pies in question may not be those of the link provided from the UK. Pies and the like from the UK are readily available here in Thailand the only thing prohibiting the cost is ones income. I was very surprised to see Pukka Pies in Tops supermarket Phitsanulok, the same can be said for Sara Lee cheese cake available in Big C Lom Sak centre of the universe for a costly 289 baht. Happy pie eating.
meatboy
peters pies, founded by the thomas's from merthyr south wales, produced at their factory in nantgarw, near caerphilly. they do make exceedingly good pies, faggots, black pudding and corned beef pasties. so has peter moved to pattaya? TAFF wake up your having a bad dream. Edited June 8, 2015 by meatboy
xylophone
If you can't find them try "Yorkies" pork pies (the larger "stand pie") as they are the best I've tasted anywhere!
n210mp
Peters Pies available in Pattaya are the best I have ever tasted either here or in the UK and are the same ones that the OP was on about I am sure that they can be delivered as well, at least on the dark side Edited June 8, 2015 by n210mp

berybert
Best pork pies I had are actually Aussies pork pies. These I found in Villa market in Prom Phong in Bangkok in the Freezer section. No idea if these are also available in Pattaya but you never know. My old favorite used to be Yorkies but more recent these seemed to be a bit on the wet side. Tho this could be due to the fact that they are frozen before transportation to Bangkok.

xylophone
Managed to locate some Yorkies pork pies in the freezer at Phuket Central Festival (Tops) and they are ok.............not as good as the "Stand Pies" (larger Yorkie pork pies) I have had before, however. IMO pork pies do not freeze well. The pastry is affected and often becomes soggy and the jelly is not as good. I would say that a fresh pork pie is at least 50% tastier than a frozen one. Mine freeze and defrost OK but they are handmade with TLC and no preservatives.

I agree whole heartedly Warm Water Pastry just doesn't freeze well, just about acceptable with the very small "buffet" pork pies but on anything larger yukkkk.
