Second Entry

Featured Replies

I got a Double-Entry visa in Laos almost 3 months ago, and soon I'll have to exit the country once my 3rd-month extension ends.

My plans have changed and I will be spending some time in Malaysia, thus I won't be activating my 2nd entry right away through a border-run.

My questions:

- Is not activating the 2nd entry right away -and spending time outside of Thailand- permitted, and still have a valid 2nd entry?

- If so, how long can I spend outside of Thailand in between entries?

IMPORTANT: I would rather hear from those with direct experience in this matter.

Thanks in advance!

Paco

Your visa will expire 3 months from the date it was issued. Check the enter before date on the visa. You must use the 2nd entry on or before that date.

You do not have to use the second entry right away, but you must use it before the visa (from the Thai consulate) itself expires. Which means that you will not have many days before the visa expires, as Laos only gives a validity of 3 months.

IMPORTANT

As already said !

Use the second entry before the visa (which is only valid for 3 months) expires or lose it !

Thank you all for the replies.

I understand I must use the 2nd entry before the date assigned.

That 2nd entry would give me 2 more months with option to extend 1 more, correct?

You will get another 60 days that can be extended for 30 days.
