Bassosa Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Hello! Just trying to find out the gossip on this new development next door to Punna, Nimman. Anyone buy a condo in this development? Heard through the grapevine that it might be used as short term accomodation for Chinese package tourists? All info welcomed. Cheers, Bas
JulieM Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Maybe someone else has a better answer. All I can tell you is that they did have a Grand Opening Party maybe 2-3 months ago and I saw a lot of people there. Maybe they were buyers or maybe they were hired staff. I think they also brought in a few Thai celebrities but I'm not sure about that.
northernjohn Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I doubt if it was built for short term Chinese tourist packages. There are a lot of Chinese but not year round. Would not be surprised if there was some come there but just not enough of them to make it worth while.
bangmai Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Considering, most rentals are furnished, and some of those will go very short term; you will get some short stay guests at almost any condo, unless there are unusually stringent rule, which could/would be bent anyway. Don't be surprised to see your neighbors condo (house, townhouse, cabin) on AirBnB.....pick your battles carefully....there would likely be more aggravation than that in Nimman....terrible footpaths, for one.
Bassosa Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 Hello everyone, Thanks for your answers. Just curious on what the effect would be on the neighbourhood if indeed busses full of Chinese would pull up daily. I am definitely not investing in Nimmana, my rented condo looks over the building site and for the last month I've seen enough shockingly bad workmanship to never ever come near that building. It really is that BAD. Consider yourselves warned. Cheers again.
bangmai Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 could you give us some examples of "shockingly bad workmanship"?
Bassosa Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 This happens daily. Jackhammering away recently completed work. These lads started first thing in the morning. One day later. Not sure why this needed to happen. The bottom floor condos had a hastily built up cement retaining wall added. Not sure if this is what you want as a condo owner. Example of detailing. Not sure if this is going to be fixed up, but assume not.
