mamypoko
Enough already. Would somebody kindly organize the transgender community, please. Establish a workers fund, group insurance...etc. etc. ...and please get someone to do some positive PR work on their behalf. Once I'd like to see a headline that reads Pattaya drag queens spent a weekend cleaning the beach - donated toys to kids - helping the elderly. This demographic is ripe for a turnaround. I counted only 4,970 THB !!! 6x 20 THB -> 120 THB 1 x 50 THB -> 50 THB 3x 100 THB -> 300 THB 1 x 500 THB -> 500 THB 4 x 1000 THB -> 4000 THB + Total: 4970 THB So where did the 20 THB go ? little mary sunshine
So sad, for Thailand, that the Police allow this to continue. Repeat offenders, With no deterrent. What is a 500B fine? A joke. For each tourist that get Robbed, they return to their Country and tell 50more people what a horrible, Dangerous Thailand is to visit. First offense for this can be 1000B fine, Second offense is automatic 60 day jail. No early release . Word would get Out and these crimes would decrease. . petercool
People keeping referring to a 500 baht fine but who says that is so ? If they are arrested then they go to court and a jail term is very likely.

ChiangmaiRob
The bar needs to get busted for being open at 3am. Its the bar's fault the tourist got robbed. Where does it say the bar was open? It only states the tourist was robbed in front of a bar, which could just have easily have been closed. Quote, "The team found Winai and Na hugging and talking to the victim near the Best Friends bar on the road at about 3 am". Besides, these thieving LB parasites "work" on Beach Road, not in the bars. Yes, how do you know a transgender woman is fined 500 baht for pickpocketing ? 555 Or how do we know they will go to court and receive a custodial sentence? One can hope so, particularly as per the Cambodian, it is a second (or more) offence. They do need to be removed for a spell as I suspect the total number of LB thieves is actually quite small, rather they have quite a successful time with the numbers of intoxicated revellers wandering the Pattaya streets in the early hours trying to remember where their hotels are. ie Victims are easy pickings....... Nice to read of Police being proactive. Edited June 12, 2015 by jacko45k

Nobb
Transgender complain about being picked on by police. Normal Thai working lady does not rob and attract attention so much. If you have to get a operation get a job. Robbing makes you a disgrace to the transgender who work and are good people but labelled by your actions! The Deerhunter
Good work by the undercover cop. Crime of this type is next to nil in Japan so he would have had no idea. I like these good news stories about the BIB . Like everyone else, they are not ALL bad, ALL the time. Yes, mamypoko, some good news stories about ladyboys would be nice too.
