Metal Detector Needed

Featured Replies

HI

Im i chiang mai.

Long story but I've lost some gold in a river

Has anyone got a metal detector (waterproof) and can hire it

Hmmmm, I think you may be hard pressed to find one. I seem to remember that they are outlawed in this country.... but then I could be wrong.

I`ve never seen them in any shops during my travels which in itself is a bit strange. Im sure if they were about that a lot of Thais would be out in the rice fields right now looking for lost treasure/gold.

Best of luck...

Does the OP intend to dive in and walk along the bottom of a river searching for gold?

If so, I am curious to know how?

i'm curious too. saw this on facebook at least a week ago. probably long gone by now - under layers of silt.

they won't say how it happened. sounds weird i think.

If it's under the silt, it ain't long gone thumbsup.gif

Saw it on FB. Sounded like wife or gf tantrum to me, but might be wrong.....

I really don't think that they are illegal here--many years ago I had one for underwater use and used it while snorkeling around Phuket--I met 2 or 3 other Thai guys doing much the same--even bumped into one of them at Prachuap Kiri Khan a while later--my device flew back to UK many years ago--otherwise I would gladly have rented it out.

Hi, I have an underwater metal detector for sale, it can be seen on baht&sold or you can contact me via email. As for renting it, could be done but it wont be cheap as (deposit of full payment), shipping will be added.
