Hmmmm, I think you may be hard pressed to find one. I seem to remember that they are outlawed in this country.... but then I could be wrong.

I`ve never seen them in any shops during my travels which in itself is a bit strange. Im sure if they were about that a lot of Thais would be out in the rice fields right now looking for lost treasure/gold.

i'm curious too. saw this on facebook at least a week ago. probably long gone by now - under layers of silt.

they won't say how it happened. sounds weird i think.

I really don't think that they are illegal here--many years ago I had one for underwater use and used it while snorkeling around Phuket--I met 2 or 3 other Thai guys doing much the same--even bumped into one of them at Prachuap Kiri Khan a while later--my device flew back to UK many years ago--otherwise I would gladly have rented it out.

Hi, I have an underwater metal detector for sale, it can be seen on baht&sold or you can contact me via email. As for renting it, could be done but it wont be cheap as (deposit of full payment), shipping will be added.

Then there are loads of people breaking the law down in Pattaya ,and many other beaches around Thailand .
