Korean Ambassador: MERS situation not worrying

BANGKOK, 18 June 2015 (NNT) – Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office ML Panadda Diskul has met with the South Korean Ambassador to Thailand, who played down the seriousness of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) outbreak.

ML Panadda gave a warm welcome to HE Mr Jeon Jae Man, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom of Thailand, who paid him a courtesy call at Government House. After their meeting, the minister revealed that the topics of discussion included the long-standing relationship between the two countries, educational cooperation, joint tourism promotion and the popularity of the Korean language among Thai youth.

Another important issue touched on by the two sides was the spread of the MERS virus in South Korea. ML Panadda said the Ambassador gave assurances that the current outbreak should not be a cause for concern as it is still controllable.

On this occasion, ML Panadda also affirmed to the press that, on behalf of the government, the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Interior will cooperate with each other to ensure the safety of all Thai Muslims going on Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, where the first confirmed case of MERS was found.

Yes, they said that about the first few cases of ebola.

When they said everything was OK and no need to close it's borders.

Several thousand people and several infected countries later.

They said oops we were wrong.

What's important about a dozen or two dead people...

1/ he hasn't got it

2/ he's in Thailand

"What, me worry?" A.E. Neuman

And they just announced the first case of MERS in Thailand.S

Seems he flew in from Oman...three days ago.

I wonder where the rest of the passengers are?

Nothing to worry about??

"the Ambassador gave assurances that the current outbreak should not be a cause for concern"

I beg to differ.
