2.2 million tablets of ya baa seized from roadside bushes

CHIANG RAI: -- About 2.2 million tablets of methamphetamine or ya baa and 10 kilogrammes of Ice (crystal meth) were found dumped in the bushes about 200 metres from a main road in Mae Lao district of Chiang Rai on Thursday.

Mae Lao police said they were alerted of the presence of several bags dumped in the bushes and a police team was rushed to the scene to investigate. When they opened up the bags they found the ya baa and Ice.

The drugs were believed to be intentionally dumped in the bushes by drug traffickers to avoid police detection and to be picked up later to be delivered to the buyers.
