BANGKOK: -- The diary of murdered former night-entertainment tycoon Somyot Suthangkool reveals that there are 22 issues that could possibly be motives behind his death, police have revealed.

A member of the investigating team said yesterday that Somyot's diary was a key piece of evidence.

"We are going to analyse it in detail," the source said.

Somyot's daughter, Nattida, 25, said her late father was meticulous and usually jotted down everything in his diary. "We have already given the diary to police," she said.

Nattida said she suspected a family member who had shown hatred towards her and her parents over the past year might be behind the murder. "He once announced that he wanted to kill my dad," she said.

She and her mother, Rassamee, testified to police yesterday. Somyot, 62, was shot dead on Monday night.

Rassamee pointed the finger at people who owed her late husband money over gambling, and those engaged in a land dispute with him. A police source said investigators had also checked Somyot's passbooks and cheques searching for clues.

Police are also checking recordings from security cameras in the hope of finding Somyot's attacker.

Several names have emerged in relation to his death. Police are now trying to summon these persons to interrogate them. One of them is a family friend known as Koi because she knew his whereabouts on Monday.

"She had called me and I said we were heading to a shark fin restaurant," Rassamee said, adding that she was waiting for Somyot, who had gone to the toilet after dinner, when he was gunned down.

Still not sure why this item keeps coming up as a news item well past it's use by date,

what this killing is different than other daily killings that goes on here and only get a tiny

mention in the media,, is it because he was a rich man?

Should be solved in the near future. I suspect the police are 36.32% done with their investigation into this issue.

Only 22 suspects to quiz, 23 if we include the thin brown line.

22 possible suspects in a murder inquiry- Are you kidding?.

Which normal honest person has 22 potential murders on the horizon?

There are terrorists in this country with fewer enemies.
