Revo 2.8 vs 2.4 auto vs manual smart can prerunner

Featured Replies

need a new truck for carrying things for work and I would have settled for top model double cab but then figured I needed more space at the back so will go for smart cab prerunner 2*4

I would like a automatic but it's only available with 2.4 engine but the manual also comes with both 2.4 and 2.8 is there a big difference between these two engine?

Confused here.

The new ones don't have a 3.0 model?

If not, anybody know why they don't?

it won't meet euro 5 (or what ever the number is now) in countries other than Thailand it is sold into.

The new 2.8L engine has more power, more torque and uses less fuel than the old 3.0L engine - so nothing has been "lost".

@OP: the gap between the new 2.4 & 2.8L engines is smaller than what it was between the old 2.5L & 3.0L ones of the previous generation. Buy the bigger one of you want more power, don't mind paying a little more for diesel to get it, and don't mind changing gears yourself.

I'm still a bit in the old school "No replacement for displacement" when it comes to durability and longevity.

However, technology is changing and fast.
