Hello again,

I appreciate the replies to my previous posts . I respect the many informative posts by NancyL and UbonJoe, among others. But, NancyL, UbonJoe did not answer my question about whether Chiang Mail Immigration requires seasoning of a Thai bank account if using a combination of 800K baht uwith both ncome and Thai bank funds. I am not trying to difficult and, obviously, it is an important matter to me. Has any member, living in Chiang Mai and on an O-A retirement visa, not seasoned their Thai bank funds and obtained a recent extension of stay?

Another issue - My income is my monthly U.S. social security benefit. Does the U.S. Consulate office in Chiang Mai require a letter or other documentation from the Social Security Adminstration, or other source, before issuing an income affidavit?

Again, thank you very much, Rick G

It has been reported that Chiang Mai goes by the rules and does not require seasoning for the combination of money in the bank and income.

You will be asked for nothing when you do the income affidavit.. All you need is your passport, the completed affidavit and $50 (or 1700 baht) for the fee.

The requirement for Consulate issue of letter is your sworn affirmation before US Consulate Officer that the figure you are signing as receiving is true - thereby a US Federal Offence if ever proven otherwise. But you should have other proof later for immigration in the odd case that you are asked for it.
