Bomb attacks at Padang Besar and Sungai Golok carried out by same insurgent group



BANGKOK: -- Royal Thai Police deputy commissioner Pol Gen Jakthip Chaichinda revealed today that the bomb attacks in two border towns of Songkhla and Narathiwat last week was the work of the same group of southern militants.

The bomb attacks at Padang Besar and Sungai border towns adjacent to Malaysian border left six dead, and over a dozen injured.

Several shop houses were also gutted in a fire that was triggered by the powerful blasts.

Pol Gen Jakthip who was on an inspection trip to both scenes to follow up investigation and to help hunt down the culprits said investigation into the attacks in both provinces has made progress.

He said police now have known the identities of some of the culprits.

In both cases the bombers are from the same group.

He said arrest warrants were expected to be sought from the court soon.

He also told police to stay on alert as more violence could be expected before the end of the Muslim Ramadan fast this week.

Earlier Sungai Golok had gained evidence that a bomb suspect had crossed back to Malaysia’s border town to hide after the bomb attack.

I have not been to these Southern Provinces, but it would seem by now the Army/Police should know everybody living in this area. They should give these people 72 hours to leave Thailand and then do a hand to hand of the whole area arrest and/or kill everybody that has an AK47 or unlicensed weapon, anyone with explosives should be killed on the spot !!

There is a culture in this World, including Thailand, that has no respect for human life, especially if they have a different religion or belief. They should be treated the same way. It is not going to get better, only worse because they want World domination and every living being to conform to their belief !!

Ramadan ends tomorrow, the violence in the South will pick back up soon, still, only 5 more months till the insurgency is all over and the insurgents lay down their arm, and stop their cause...

Except in this case, the beef is about land, and not religion

Give "these people" 72 hours to leave Thailand eh? Despite the fact they're Thais themselves, why should they need to leave their homeland?

As for the rest of your opening paragraph unfortunately that's exactly what many of the Police units and Army units have been doing.
