I realise I've left it quite late...

I got a 60 day double entry tourist visa at the Thai consulate in London. Arrived in Thailand on 21 May and got stamped in by immigration for tomorrow 19 July.

Just weighing up my options... which I think is just 1. Go and do a border run. I'm in Chiang Mai. But the Chiang Mai visa office is open Monday to Fridays only.

Is it in fact too late to go to Chiang Mai immigration on Monday - the 20th to the immigration office - as I will have overstayed by then?

In which case I have to get on the bus tomorrow bright and early for the MaeSae thing. Is that correct?

Thank you oh wise ones.

your ok to go Monday and get a 30 day extension at local immigration 1,900 baht, or do a border run and get another 60 day stamp, depends on your long term plans. each 60 day stamp can be extended by 30 days.

no overstay, as immigration is closed on the day your stamp runs out, you should really try and extend in the week before the stamp expires.

As said you can go on Monday to apply for the 30 day extension and will not pay an overstay because your permit to stay ended on a day immigration is closed.

If you went to Mae Sai they might not let you leave for another entry because you have not gotten an extension yet.

As said, you could have gone in a week or so before your permission to stay ended to apply for an extension. They add the 30 days onto your current permission regardless of when you apply, so nothing is lost by doing it early and leaving it until the last minute doesn't achieve anything but increasing your stress levels.
