Photo: Eakkapop Thongtub PHUKET: The driver who abandoned his red Volvo V70 after crashing it into lamppost in Srisoonthon on Wednesday (July 22) has surrendered himself to police.Chamnan Intham, 48, arrived at Thalang police station at 10:30am yesterday (July 24), said Lt Suporn Muangkhai.“He said he panicked after the accident, so he and his friend fled the scene,” he said.Both men suffered only minor injuries in the crash, he added.Chamnan saved police a search, as they already had his identification card, which was left behind in the wreck. Wealthy enough to have a Volvo, but not wealthy enough to hire the pathetic excuse for public transport on Phuket. Given no real affordable public transport options here, most chose to drive under the influence. It's the danger we ALL face on the roads here.
