I see this plugged on TV quite a bit so just did a Google search. They start from 484,000 to 625,000 baht, which seems pretty reasonable for this car.

Thanks for the correction. Old age getting to me, and everything starts looking the same!

I had a look at it last weekend, and was very impressed. Extremely roomy for the price, and seemed to be solidly built, much better than one would expect for the price. Those who have driven it claim that it parks the Nissan Almera in every possible way. Will be an interesting car to follow.

has only 91hp though

That's because the version sold here in Thailand has been specified to satisfy the ECO II requirements. That means an engine with less than 1,300 cc. This one is 1,250.

And that means you will not be able to go up a hill in traffic

Try it. You'll be surprised.

Same engine as my Suzuki Swift and that just flies up hills...........put it into "sports mode" and the acceleration is surprising.

I read that weight-wise there's not much difference between the two, so power should be comparable.

Interior is pretty good, if slightly dated, but definitely better than the Attrage or Brio Saloon. Exterior styling is much more mature an elegant than anything else in the price range. Lot's of space, and better than average handling for the segment.

Unless interior space is your priority, I would personally gt a Mazda 2. Class leading engine and handling. Interior is great too.

I'm considering at the moment, and trending towards the Mazda. Build quality and driving agility of the Mazda are beyond any competition this side of the expensive Europeans, and with the petrol engine, price is very competitive too. But the real sensation is of course the diesel version. A pocket rocket that runs on the fumes of your deodorant ;)

The Mazda also offers foldable back seat rests with the sedan versions except the cheapest ones. But if carrying 4-5 adults around town or to the airport is the task, this Suzuki seems hard to beat. The Mazda is considerably more cramped, particularly the rear seats.
