Are you asking about a multiple entry non-o visa or and extension of stay based upon being the parent of a Thai.

Since he is not the legal father of his children hew would to have his parenthood legitimized. to apply for either one.

Anybody can buy a car.

If he was still working he could apply for citizenship after being on extensions of stay.for 3 years. After getting it he could buy land in his own name.

For a start he needs to be legally married.

He might get one on the grounds of having Thai children but would need to be the legal Father.

Name on the birth certificate is not enough.

He would get a stay up to 15 months but would need to leave the Country every 90 days.

He could also get a 12 month extension of stay at Immigration if he was married or the legal Father.

400,000 Baht in a Thai bank or 40,000 monthly income.

He would then have to report to Immigration every 90 days rather than leave the Country.

whistling.gif Benefits....basically none.

If he is age 50 or over, and he has enough funds to meet the financial requirements, he can apply for and get an annual renewal of retirement in Thailand.

He can extend his visa annually based on retirement in Thailand as long as he meets the annual requirements and that annual extension will keep him in Thailand even when his original visa expires.

Just that extension however will not allow him citizenship, will not allow him to buy land, and will not allow him to work in Thailand.

Been there, got the T-shirt.

He is working and will leave his current job, as consequence his working visa will be expired after a while,

what I'm asking is: how to get O visa for 1 year duration, and that will include the 90 days reports,

I can't understand this : (if he was married or the legal father? 400k or 40k income) ?

as I mentioned, he is married (no civilian register), he has 2 kids registered by his name, = does this meant the legal father?

the amount 400k or 40k for what purposes? plz clearify a bit more based on his situation which was clearly mentioned,

are the above mentioned (married or legal father), (400k or 40k) are options? or he must have them all or how? make it simple plz,

many thanks in advance,

Asking about how he get a 1 year staying visa, he is legal father = if meant that his name on the birth cert,

if about marriage, he did not register, is it clear?

and this O visa, can buycondo, car, open bank acc etc?

for non immigrant o multi entry penang requires:

mothers ID

Child's Birth cert

current copy of bankbook with money in it. not necessarily 400k, it seems to vary by case, but over 100k with evidence of regular income seems to work fine.

i have been getting these for years. not legitimized.

His name on the birth certificate does not make him the legal father. See this topic: How To Gain Parental Rights As A Father

In reality you can do all the things you mentioned without having a non-o visa.

Penang is the only nearby location that will issue a multiple entry non-o visa without being the legal father and it requires financial proof to get it.

I understood now, to obtain a non-immi "O" multiple visa for 1 year, have to prepare the followings:

Thai mother's ID, children's birth cert, and passbook have some cash in the acc. over than 100k THB,

very simple,

-------------------------

once he obtained this type of visa, he can buy/sell car, or property?

because for a tourist visa holder is not allowed to do any of such transactions,

work permit visa does, I knew this, but for "O" visa i'm not sure,

Also, is any can explain about what said in above 'legal father" ?
