anyone recognize this one?

I heard barking then howling from the neighbour's dogs and a little later spotted this snake half way down a drain just outside the kitchen door. I checked a few websites but couldn't find anything that matched it.

Mooban security just visited and took it away. It's now dead. I asked in Thai whether it was dangerous and he smiled and nodded his head.

Without a head shot it is guesswork but the body looks like it could be a python.

It was quite short, about 1m.

Reticulated python.looking for rats most likely.

Harmless to humans... lethal to rats, kill it if you love rats.

And they eats cats as well. Our beautiful white Khao Manee was eaten by a python last month, and the cat was 7 kgs. ! Never thought such a thing could happen.

One up for the fauna. About time it (the fauna) fought back against these ruthless predators.

Python... We were losing 2 ducks at a time before I perfected my snake proof pens.

Neighbours have lost geese to big pythons !

Bites can get infected easily, so just leave them alone and you'll be fine..

I didn't kill it and I didn't want it to die. However, I wanted to know whether it was a threat to the lives of me and my family. I called security to remove the threat - I'm too scared. I'm not sure whether it died of injuries sustained by meeting the neighbour's dogs or from the security guard. Really appreciate all the feedback. I'm really glad that it wasn't a Malaysian pit viper that got within a metre of my home.

I know a girl keeping a small cute rodent in Japan they call a Marmot. ( I don't know what they really are, the Marmots I know from N. America are freaking huge).

Anyway she was stupid enough to let it play outside and an Owl swooped down out of nowhere (Asahikawa) in broad daylight and carried it away. Traumatized but, Is that the Owls fault?

Killing snakes is a bad idea and cannot see how it can be honestly justified, even if venomous. They should be wrangled by snake handlers and relocated.

Not like the world is full of snake wranglers. Bet you can't find one when you need him/her.
