PHUKET: Police do not suspect foul play in the death of a 52-year-old English tourist whose corpse was discovered by his older brother in the room of a popular Patong beach-side resort this evening (August 8).

According to Lt Col Wirapong Rakkito, special-case investigator from Kathu Police Station, police were notified by staff at the international-chain hotel at 7.30pm that an English tourist had been found dead in his hotel bed.

The deceased, named as Mr Paul Joseph Humphrey, was reportedly found by his older brother, Mr Jeremy Humphrey, who did not wish to press the case as he was convinced Paul had suffered a heart attack, Lt Col Wirapong said.

Paul's corpse was found completely in the nude, wrapped in blankets and lying on his side.

Police estimated that he had been dead for no less than six hours.

A hotel check found that the last time his hotel room door had been opened was at 1:46 am [presumebly by Paul, waiting to verify], early this morning, and CCTV footage verified that no one else had entered or left the hotel room since, that is until his brother finally entered the room to discover the body [waiting to verify how brother entered room].

From their initial investigation, police believe Paul had suffered from a heart attack, but nonetheless his body has been sent to Patong Hospital for further examination.

RIP .......YOUNG MAN !

poor boy....not even got fun the last minutes of his life.......But anyway RIP

Are they convinced it was only a heart attack .. ? where was his thai GF ? ... was there any prescription medicines on the table next to the bed .. ?? what about his mobile and money .. ??

I see we still have the usual inconsequential and irrelevant questions being asked about Thai girlfriends, prescription drugs and personal belongings?

The fact that this poor mans relatives were in attendance soon after the tragic discovery and were satisfied as to the circumstances matters not, let's waste a few of our sad and empty minutes asking questions that no one really cares about!

Another fine example of the TVF sleuths total disregard as to who may be reading this thread, who cares if his distraught family have to read some thoughtless and pointless questions, these questions just have to be asked don't they???

Condolences and commiserations to his family and friends, your loss of someone so young is a tragedy. Hopefully your memories help to assuage your grief.

Why do they have to say "completely in the nude" as if its some sort of sordid fact, if i died in my sleep from a heart attack thats how they would find me and many others no doubt

poor boy....not even got fun the last minutes of his life.......But anyway RIP
