BD coming up... French restaurant in Bangkok.. any advise

Featured Replies

I want to take the Thai wife for my birthday to a French Restaurant in Bangkok...

Any advises from the local expats??

thanks

L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon

Le Normandie Restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel

L'indigo, soi convent (not so expensive and good) or Chez philippe soi 39 (more expensive but very good).

Le Bouchon, Patpong, Soi 2

I'll second Le Bouchon - very good but you should book or might not get in.

Chez Pape on Sukhumvit Soi 11 isn't bad either.

thanks for the advise... keep them coming..

4Garcons on Thonglor is another option to consider

J'AIME by Jean-Michel Lorain at the U Sathorn hotel. Jean-Michel has a 2 or 3 Michelin star place in France and the reataurant here is run by his daughter and her boyfriend who was Jean-Michel's chef in France. Good food, non-pretentious atmosphere and prices that won't require a second mortgage. I've been there 2 or 3 times and always been happy.

"Arthur" in Soi Tonson, opposite Central Chidlom. Expensive but very French.

Another suggestion is "Le Boef" in Soi Lang Suan, but it has basically just one dish: "Entrecôte Café de Paris", which is a steak with herb butter. I love it. Not expensive. Take the house wine, an honest little Bordeaux.
