Materials to teach world history, in English

scorecard

Recommended Posts

My Thai grandchildren, even at a better school, have no lessons whatever in world history.

My Thai son and myself have concerns about this so we agreed I will teach the two granddaughters this subject for one of two hours each week-end (and my son and his Thai wife will also join each session). Luckily they all speak read and write advanced to very advanced English.

I've done some search for suitable materials but with little success.

My son checked with two Thai senior teachers who confirmed that these materials (in Thai or English) just don't exist in the mainstream Thai education system.

Any suggestions about materials much appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks, but my grandchildren learn Thai history already at their school. Their father says the books (in Thai language) are quite new, he read them himself and he says the actual content is not too bad.

Our objective is to teach my grandchildren (and my son and his Thai wife) some world history. All the family speak read and write good to advanced English so English will be the language.

I have my doubts that structured world history (progressive - over several school levels) even exists with Thai language.

World history is taught at schools in many countries so obviously the materials do exist. I did find some course books and workbooks published by one of the highest profile international textbook publishers but the price for just one or two sets is totally prohibitive, therefore the search for materials from other sources.

This is not a commercial site, so hopefully the mods will leave it:

I no longer teach history, but I did find it to be a useful resource when I did.

This site is good as well, though it focuses on UK rather than World History

This one is nicely written & organized, but I did notice a couple of questionable assertions:
