YES !

I suggested this yesterday !

1. You need a completed application form and passport photos.

2. You need copies of your passport data page and relevant visas.

3. You need evidence of having 800,000 Bht in a Thai bank.

4. You need sufficient cash in Malaysian ringgit to pay the fee for the visa ................

What kind of visa are you asking about?:

  • In the headline you mention a "O-a" visa.
  • In the text of your post you mention a "non immi o" visa.

The answers so far has been for a Non Immigrant O visa. You won't be able to get a Non immigrant O-A visa in Penang unless you are a Malaysian citizen or resident (which it doesn't sound like you are).

I got a multi entry in June. Banana Guest house said that this would not be possible. Jim said no problem.

i have not had a visa for Thailand since 2002

but was down there in July and asked some people who were getting visas and also spoke with the agent at Banana about visas.

I was charged 620 MYR - that is 70 above the visa fee. The only required documents were my passport - to confirm I was over 50 - and bank book.

I did not go to the consulate

The visa fee in local currency was recently increased in Malaysia, ie the exchange rate for the calculation was adjusted. There is a separate topic about it.
