For the foodies out there-

The bagel house in the old city was off my radar until this afternoon. I stopped for a lightly toasted poppy seed bagel with cream cheese, lox (smoked salmon) onion, tomatoes and seasonings. The shop is run by two young Thai women who are just delightful to deal with. Polite, beautiful, professional and charming.

What more can you want?

To me, they have the best bagels in town. The husband of one of the beautiful ladies learned to make bagels in NYC and then opened his own shop in Colorado and then came here. His wife worked in the shop in Colorado and is the baker.

In the very center of old Chiang Mai is Wat Chedi Luang. South of there a couple of blocks is a Chevrolet dealership. The Bagel House is immediately across the street to the east from the Chevy dealer.

Yes easily my favourite, the coronation chicken bagel is great

Don't know what that is and don't want to, chicken and bagel are two words that shouldn't go together just as bagel and sandwich (which unfortunately it might be :( )

Actually, the woman who runs Bagel House is in the US (with their young daughter) taking care of her husband, who helped her develop the basic bagel "recipe" and is now dealing with a serious cancer problem. One sister is managing the place together with an employee. Another sister hand-makes the bagels at a separate location. These are nice people I know fairly well, and they would certainly appreciate your business at this time.

I was introduced to bagels in grad school, OSU, by fellow student, a jew guy from Calif. Learned to enjoy the chewy/creamcheese/lox, then branched out to Blueberry Bagels !!

I know the Chevy dealer, i'll try a whole wheat bagel at Bagel House.
