This is a bit off topic but maybe someone can help. I own a 2007 Ford Everest (great vehicle btw) and I have been trying to find out who manufactures the airbag system. I have emailed and called Ford numerous times without so much as a response to my emails or a call-back. When I took the Everest to the dealership they best they could tell me is it was made by Ford. The reason I need to know is due to the Takata airbag recall which can cause metal fragments to fly out when/if the airbag is deployed. I’ve been to the Takata website, searched online, and even tried to search via the USA recall site…..all without any luck. Anyone have any other ideas on how I can know for sure which airbag is installed in my Everest?

From the recall list I saw, the recall only affected a small number of US made Fords.

As the Everest is a SUV built on the Ranger platform and the fact Ford Australia did not recall the ranger for airbags it is pretty safe to say the airbags in the Everest are not affected.
